HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-06-26 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. June 26,1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened ' at 7:30 P.M. Messrs, Bancroft, Putnam, Davis, Lindsay and Superintendent Welch were present. Board voted office to be closed evening of July 3,1936. Permit to Christian Science Church to relocate present sign on Common. Location to be approved by Superintendent. Permit for pole relocation be granted. Corner Charles and Main Sts. Joint ownership. Abatement of 1r1.00 granted on water bill of George Doyle, 33 Curtis Street. Letter received from Senator Walsh in regard to request , for additional grant on Filtration Plant. Application for curbing received from Dr. Baisley, 24 Woburn St. Placed on file. Letter received from Town Counsel in regard to Chapter 211, Acts of 1936 and its effect on Board of Survey. Motion passed to ask Secretary of State what was total of last official State census of Reading. Mr. Marsh of So. Main St, appeared to complain about his water bill. The Superintendent will investigate the conditions and Mr. Marsh made a partial payment. A hearin,_, on the approval of lines and grades for Lawrence Road under the Board of Survey was held at 9:00 P.M. The following appeared in favor: , Everett C. Frost Paul Garrett Coleman Donahue -2- 6/26/36 None were opposed. Action postponed. Board voted to approve the renumbering on the following streets: Manning Street Michelini Lane Middle Street Mineral Street Morgan Park Nelson Avenue . Oak Street Oak Ridge Road Orange Street Ordway Terrace Pearl Street Pennsylvania Avenue Percy Avenue Pierce Street Pilgrim Road Pine Avenue Pinevale Avenue Pratt Street Palmer Hill Avenue Parkman Road Parkview Road Board adjourned at 10:10 P.M.
