HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-02-07 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass, February 7,1936 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Bancroft, Barnes and Superifftendent Welch were present. Mr. Steinhour appeared to request an abatement on his assessment on land located on Van Norden Road. Mr, George A. Colley of Prospect St. appeared to protest payment of a water bill which he deems excessive. A letter of appreciation was received from Mr. Arthur Pierce as a result of good work done by the Department in snow removal. A petition for the acceptance of Fairview Ave. from Sunnyside Ave. to Pratt St. was received. A petition for the acceptance of Sunnyside Ave, was re- ceived. It was decided to proceed with the surveys and hearings on all applications. Board vobed to allot 3 numbers to every 35 ft. of frontage on the following streets; Haven from the Square to High St. and Main, from Washington St to Salem St. Board consulted with the Planning Board concerning the establishment of a town engineering department.
