HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-01-10 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. January 10,1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Crocker, Barnes and Superintendent Welch were present. A letter was received from Mrs. Steele of County Road requesting abatement in her water bill; Board voted to abate $4.55 leaving a bill of .91/. Mrs. Steelets house was connected to the water line without her approval. Board voted to abate the water gill of Harry Smith, Willow St. from $12.10 to $10.00 because of rusty water, Board voted to do so. Mr. Orville Poland appeared to suggest thut the Board of ' Public Works set up a system of employment whereby those men on the Welfare who are now doing work for the Public Works Dept. may be taken on as employees of the town. Mr. Putnam repeated a request of Mr. Forrest Carter of Hartshorn St, who wishes to have that street accepted by the Town for its full length to Bancroft Avenue . Board adjourned at 10:30 P. M.
