HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-12-13 Board of Public Works Minutes CReading, Mass. , December 13, 1935. The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Fowle, Barnes, Crocker and Superintendent Welch were present. A letter was received from Weston & Sampson recommending the installation of Simplex Co. filter equipment under request for bids of December 6. Board voted to follow the engineer's recommendation and recommend award of the contract for the filter equipment to the Simplex Valve and Meter Co. Superintendent notified Board that Snow & Ice Account was nearly overdrawn - Mr. Bent to request Finance Board to approve overdraft of $1,000.00. Board voted that Mr. Godfrey's water bill be abated in accordance with the Superintendent's recommendation. Board voted to authorize the Superintendent to employ Mr. Godfrey at .30¢ an hour as he may require. Board voted to request the Superintendent to devise a plan of street renumbering in the thickly congested business districts. Board voted to buy curbstone in preparation for sidewalk building in the Spring. Mr. Samuel Davis appeared. Board adjourned at 9:30 P. M. Respectfully Submitted: A True Copy: Attest: Signed: A.
