The Board signed twelve copies of the contract between Tn1ler Construction Co. and the Town of Reading for the construc- tion of the Filtration Plant. It was moved that the Board of Public Works recommend to the P. W. A. that the contract for the Equipment in the Reading Iron Removal Plant be awarded to the Turbine Equipment Co. at their bid price of $3690.00 for the following reasons: I. Of the plans filed by the bidders, supplementing their proposals, the plan submitted by the Turbine Equipment Co. proposes a layout which would be more efficient and economical than any other submitted and hence more advantageous to the Town. Their plan also shows that they have given more time and thought to the layout. II. The present pumping station is equipped with DeLaval pumps and Westinghouse motors. The proposal of the Turbine Equip- ment Co. proposes using these same units. This uniformity between the present equipment and the proposed equipment is desirable and would be advantageous to the Town. Motion carried 5 to 0. Board adjourned at 10:45.
