The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Barnes, Crocker, Bancroft and Superintendent
Birnie were present.
A letter was received from the Finance Committee relative
to the subject of water filtration.
Mr. Arthur Michelini appeared to be interviewed by the
Board for the position of superintendent.
A hearing was held on the changing of the name of that
section of County Road from Howard Street up to the sharp right
hand turn from the present name of County Road to Howard St.
Mr. MacIntosh appeared to be interviewed by the Board
for the position of superintendent.
Mr. Joseph Knight appeared to inquire into the method
of renumbering Perkins Avenue. He had no objections.
Mr. George T. Lewis appeared to show the Board a street
sign and to make a request for orders . His prices are as follows:
Single sign, less than 2 ft. $3.00
More than one, " " " " 2. 50
One 2 ft. long, price on request
A letter was written to the Chairman of the Finance
Committee, suggesting a meeting with that Board in connection with
the construction of a filtration plant.

A petition was received from the residents of Causeway
Road requesting that their road be accepted. The Board voted
to hold a hearing two weeks from this meeting.
A request for curbing was received from Muriel L.
Richardson, 20 Virginia Rd. The Secretary was instructed to
inform Mrs. Richardson of the customary proceedure in applying for
a curb stone installation.
Board voted to approve the Order of Taking on the re-
location of Franklin Street.
A request was received from Mrs. Laura Gordon relative
to a water bill on the premises at 192 Main St. , which she deems
excessive. Voted to render her a revised bill for 2300 ft. of
water.
Board voted to request the Board of Selectmen to give
the Aeration and Filtration Plant No. 1 preference on the list
of P. W. A. projects.
Board adjourned at 11:30 P . M.
