The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Barnes, Bancroft and Superintendent Birnie
were present.
Mr. and Mrs . Stevens and Mr. Jeffrey Robbins appeared at
the hearing on the renumbering of School Street to enter a formal
protest.
Mr. Edwin Mitchel came before the Board for an interview
in connection with the position of Superintendent.
Mr. C. N. Truesdale came before the Board for a similar
interview.
Mr. Sherburne Hill came before the Board for a similar
interview.
Mr. Winchester did not appear because he already has another
position.
A preliminary hearing was arranged for either next Friday or
the following Friday on the relocation and construction of Pearl St.
Board voted to hold a hearing next Friday on the changing of
the name of Howard St. extension from the present name of County Road
back to the original Howard St. Extension.
Applications for positions of Superintendent were received
from Dexter G. Pratt, Saugus, Mass. , George C. Brehm, Waltham, Mass. ,
and George N. Watson, Malden, Mass. Each of the above applicants were
requested to appear on next Friday evening.
Board adjourned at 11:00 P. M.
