HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-03-08 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass . , March 8, 1935. The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened, at 7:30 P. M. Messrs . Putnam, Fowle, Barnes , Crocker, Bancroft and Superin- tendent Birnie were present. Mr. Putnam and Mr. Barnes were elected Chairman and Secretary, respectively. Board voted to grant a permit for the erection of a gasoline station on the corner of South Main and Washington Sts. Board gave approval to the estimated appropriations as listed =der date of March 7, which are to be submitted to the Town meeting. The hearing on street renumbering was attended by Mr. Schoppel^rry, Mr. Bussell, Captain Hugh Eames , and Miss Drury. There were no objec- tions raised. Board voted to ask Town meeting for additional $600 on Park appropriation for the use of the Woman's Club. A complaint was received from Mr. Winslow Burhoe, Attorney, in behalf of Mr. Mansfield of Franklin St. in connection with the land taking at Mr. Mansfield's property. Board voted to apply for an E. R. A. project or projects to make and set the concrete highway bounds on all accepted streets not already set with the exception of Grove and Franklin Sts.
