The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Fowle, Fairclough, Barnes , Crooker and
Superintendent Birnie were present.
Mr. Bedley of West St. appeared to protest a water bill
on the grounds that he used much less water this year than last
and that an average bill in his case is excessive. The Board
voted to reddce the bill by one-half.
Hearing on Sewer extension in Mt. Vernon Street was
attended by Mr. Pratt and Mr. Blethen. Mr. Blethen objector to the
full assessment.
' Hearing on street renumbering was attended by Captain Hugh
Eames . He Was highly in favor as usual.
Board voted to proceed with the construction of sewer
extension in Mr. Vernon St.
A letter was received from Mr. C. A. Goodwin complaining
of water in the cellar at 34 Prescott St. and a bill for pumping
was enclosed which he wishes the town to pay.
The Chairman read the report of Weston and Sampson, Engin-
eers, and the Secretary was instructed to request them to make a
detailed breakdown of the $65,000 estimate of construction cost.
Mr. Leon Bent was called in to inform the Board of the
recommendations of the Finance Committee.
Board adjourned at 11:00 P. M.
