The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Fowls, Crocker and Fairclough were present.
There was a hearing on renumbering Linden Street with Mrs.
Preston Nichols and Frances M. Bigelow present. There were no
objections.
There was a hearing on renumbering Grand Street. J. E.
Thompson and Mrs. Margaret Ellison objected.
The hearing date on the extension of sewer on Mt. Vernon
Street. School to Chute Street set for Friday, March lst.
Examination of Plan of Town prepared by Planning Board at
request of Board of Public Works. Certain errors pointed out. One
large and one small map ordered mounted on cloth.
Voted to engage steam shovel for three additional days at
Franklin Street. Cost of $125.00 plus 8 ton bit. coal, as
recommended by Superintendent.
Superintendent reported Weston & Sampson advise Aeration
and Filtration Plant complete with engines and pipe for $65,000 or
less.
Voted to present Town of Swampscott complete Board of Public
Works report for 1934 at their request.
Request from Superintendent that future salary on new
position be at $45.00. Action postponed one week.
Rules and regulations of Water Department tentatively
revised.
Voted a letter to Civil Service Commission requesting examina-
tion of candidates for Superintendent B.P.W. be held at an early date.
