HomeMy WebLinkAbout1934-12-07 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , December 7, 1934 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Fairclough, Barnes , Crooker and Superintendent Birnie were present. Mr. Guy Densmore appeared to discuss his water bill. Further revisions of the water rates were made and the whole set aside for a final revision at a later date. Budgets for 1935 were discussed preparatory to presentation at the annual town meeting. It was decided to request $5,000 for F. R. A. Mr. Coombs , Mr. Xavier and Mr. Merrill representing the Mishawaum Association appeared relative to rounding corner of West St. and ' Summer Ave. Mr. Birnie is to get a blueprint and give to Mr. Coombs. They think that by moving line out about 15 feet, Mrs. Wiberg would give land provided drainage is properly cared for. Mr. Xavier thinks staking would help. Mr. Merrill says that Tarvlating Forest St. has stopped the natural drainage of surface water and a pond results thru which the women and children have to walk, and asks gravel to fill this place. III' They have excavated several very large rocks and asks to hire compressor at some convenient time when in that vicinity, say on Colburn Rd. so that the rocks might be blasted.
