HomeMy WebLinkAbout1934-11-30 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , Nov. 30, 1934. The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Fairclough, Crocker, Fowls and Superintendent Birnie were present. Mr. Fairclough acted as Secretary. Voted to release $50.00 from the $1,000 E. R. A. Fund to Mr. Bryant for E. R. A. office expenses. Letter from I . 0. 0. F. Home of Conn. requesting information regarding 3 lots on Colburn Road. Superintendent to estimate cost and reply. Mr. S. H. Davis reported on water liens. ' Superintendent to notify mortgagees. Board discussed unpaid water bills and an automatic lien program. Superintendent to investigate cost of 250 water meter. Board signed assessments on Van Norden Road. Board voted to send residents of County Road a request for water and a 4% guarantee and set December 14 as a hearing date if information is desired. Mr. Frank Tanner appeared relative to a baseball field next spring. Mr. Crooker reported that Sweetser's Field was still possible. Mr. Birnie reported on an interview with Mr. Anderson of Kenney's garage. Board signed a duplicate plan of corner of Lowell and Deering Streets. -2- November 30, 1934, 1 A hearing on the petition of Ralph W. Smith at al, for a sewer J at the corner of Scotland Road and Hillcrest Road will be held December 14, 1934- Board discussed another change in water rates.
