The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Fairclough and Fowle were present.
Superintendent Birnie also present. Mr. Fowle acted as
Secretary pro tem.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Hearing held at 8:00 P. M. on application of New England
Telephone and Telegraph Co. for pole locations at corner of Linden
and Haven Streets. Mr. Trevor appeared for Telephone Co. No ob-
jections and application approved.
Mr. Fairclough and Mr. Fowle met with Finance Committee in
regard to transfer of funds and matter of hydrant rentals. Committee
will confer with us later. Matter of snow removal apparatus was
discussed and they preferred that we take up the matter with sub-
committee when discussing budget for 1935.
Board voted to purchase from Sundh Electric Co. , "slow down"
control equipment for pumps at new pumping station at cost of $317.00
for material and labor.
Application received from Ace Art Co. for granite curbing to
be installed on Gould St. Board voted to install the curbing providing
Ace Art Co. buy and pay for the curbing.
Application received from Ace Art Co. for tar sidewalk to be
installed on Gould St. Board voted to install.

Hearing held at 7:45 P. M. in connection with the alteration
of Deering St. at its intersection with Lowell St. Nobody appeared.
Voted to lay the matter on the table until a later date to investigate
method of obtaining land.
Board voted to expend approximately $31. 50 for stone dust to
cover various sidewalks as per list submitted by Superintendent.
Letter received from Frank D. Teed complaining of the con-
dition of the corner of the street at 100 John St. Superintendent to
write him that the Board is aware of the condition and that the matter
will be taken care of as soon as money is available.
Meeting adjourned at 11:35 P. M.
