HomeMy WebLinkAbout1934-03-02 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , March 2, 1934. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn, Fairclough, Fowle, Barnes and Superintendent Birnie were present. The Records of the previous meeting were read and approved. A letter was received from Fannie C. Nichols, 10 Holton St. , East Northfield, Mass . relative to the Laying out of Van Norden Rd. She wants line changed from that originally shown so as to make taking equal on both sides of street. Mr. Preston F. Nichols will represent her. Secretary acknowledged letter. A letter received from F. W. Chase, "Dunhuntun" R. F. D. #1, Reading, asking if an appropriation is included in the warrant for the next Town Meeting. Secretaryadvised that no appropriation is in the Warrant. A letter was received from Hugh L. Eames relative to the blocking of Village St. by the Busses. Superintendent reports that he has plowed street wider. Mr. Arthur W. Coolidge agreed to the construction of County Road and Howard St. Extension, but does not feel Estate can stand cost beside giving the land.
