The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was
called to order at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Fairclough, Fowle, Barnes and Superinten-
dent Birnie were present.
The Records of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A letter was received from George A. Fisher, 16 Pleasant St.
relative to a fence on Middle St. Board will rebuild retaining wall
but could not build a new fence. Superintendent to write to him.
Superintendent reported on water bill of the Reading Soft
Water Laundry Co.
Board signed petition of Municipal Light Department for pole
location on Glen Road, 24 ft. West of cor. of Hancock St. Extension. '
Board signed two copies of Order of Taking of Third St.
Board met with Special Finance Committee from 8:00 to
9:45 P. M.
Voted to take down fence fronting on Washington St. at the
Washington St. Playground.
An order of taking for an easement for drainage from Long-
wood Road was received from Town Counsel.
Chairman signed petition for Pole location on Glen Road.
Board voted to approve and sign the layout of Grove St.
from Forest St. by Franklin St. to connect with that part previously
laid out.

Board voted to approve and sign the relocation of the corner
of Lowell and High Streets.
A letter from the Town Counsel enclosing a bill of $15.00
from John E. Hand for examination of title for a drainage easement on
property of Elia De Marchi on the easterly side of Haverhill St.
Board voted to return the bill on account of the ruling of the Law
Committee not to pay for legal expenses .
The question of changing compressor from truck to trailer
was brought up but Superintendent advised very strongly against the
change.
Voted to hire two extra trucks for 1 week at . 50¢ per hour.
