HomeMy WebLinkAbout1934-01-05 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , January 5, 1934• The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn, Fairclough, Fowls, Barnes and Superintendent Birnie were present. Records of previous meeting were read and approved. A report on change in Town Line received from Representative Mollie A. Sweetser. To be advertised in Reading and Woburn once a week for three successive weeks. Voted to have Secretary write Mr. Frederick E. Smith, 34 John St. relative to drainage thereon which is necessary and will be done when money is available. ' Board received two releases for slope easements on Wakefield St. one signed by Ernest T. Wakefield and the other by Charles W. Jones and Helen G. Jones. Superintendent to investigate drainage conditions in Prescott St. in front of property of Mr. William H. Kimball. The Superintendent is to investigate tractor sidewalk plows. A Board of Survey hearing was held at 8:00 P. M. on layout of Third St. The condition of the fill of the trench leaves the road in very bad condition. Mr. Ireland and Mr. Buck, tenants of Mr. Shipkin appeared and notified us that Mr. Shipkin is very ill. No objections were received. Board signed and approved plan. Superintendent reported on drilling ledge at the corner of ' Grove and Franklin Streets to start.
