HomeMy WebLinkAbout1933-12-22 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , December 22, 1933 ' The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn, Fairclough, Barnes and Superintendent Birnie were present. A letter was received from Kenneth C. Young, 368 Haverhill St. relative to his water bill of $47.45, he will pay as soon as possible. Secretary wrote acknowledging receipt of letter and asking his cooperation. A letter was received from Fred F. Smith saying that he has not added to the stack of cordwood on Manning St. and will con- tinue to take wood away. A letter was received from Wendell Bancroft & Co. calling attention to the fact that the nearest hydrant to their coal shed is at the corner of Woburn and Washington St. and asked that a hydrant be installed at the beginning of Washington St. at the entrance to their yard. Secretary wrote in answer that matter would be kept under advisement but could not be done now. The Superintendent submitted an estimate of the cost of construction of Waverly Road approximately 200 ft. between Ridge & Hillside Roads. i.e. .364¢ per ft. frontage. Board voted to submit appropriations as follows to the Town Accountant as requested by him 10 days before January 1, 1934. Voted to have Superintendent investigate conditions in I South Main St. to see if water pipe can be laid on east side of street in gutter. -2- Dec. 22, 1933• C 0 P Y Mr. Leon G.
