The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was called
to order at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn, Fowle, Fairclough, Barnes and
Superintendent Birnie were present.
The records of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A hearing was held at 7:30 P. M. for the granting of an
easement to the Town to lay water pipe thru Third St. Mr. Fred F.
Smith, Mr. Joseph Shipkin, Mrs. Edith M. Nichols , Mrs . Josephine A
Sweetser and Mr. Bert F. 'Fuller signed the Board of Survey application
and the grant of the easement to the Town. Board signed taking.
Mr. Smith asked that Lewis St. be put in better condition;
' it was left in poor condition after the water pipe was laid he claims.
At 7:30 P. M. quotations were opened for hydrant prices, etc.
as listed.

Voted to purchase Pittsburg Equitable Meter Cots water '
meters.
Red Had Fittings.
Hydrants from the Eddy Valve Company.
Mr. Herbert Schopperly appeared speaking for the Neighbor-
hood Betterment Association asking that the snow plows and heaps of
materials be removed from the Poor Farm. He was told that the
materials had been removed and that snow plows would be removed at
the first snow storm requiring their use.
A Board of Survey hearing on the laying out of Ellis Ave.
extension was held at 8:00 P. M. The Planning Board was represented
by Mr. Robinson who asked that some provision be made for turning '
around at the end. Mr. Rooney appeared for the newspapers.
No objections received.
Mr. James Keating, 133 Haven St. appeared relative to his
water at above premises. The records show that post cards were re-
turned to this office giving meter reading. Board will discuss
matter further. Voted not to refund and to have the Secretary notify
him by letter.
Voted -to have the Secretary write to George E. Horrocks
asking that he pay his water bills which total $81.40.
Voted to purchase new wintercreepersand bolts for the
small tractor, total about $85.00. -
Voted to
85.00.Votedto build a skating rink at a cost of about $35.00 '
on the ball field at Birch Meadow.

The Administrator, Mr. Leman and the Board of Selectmen
met with this Board asking for more projects. Projects No. 1 and No.2
were proposedbeingthe connection of the water system with the new
stand pipe, also the John St. storm water drainage project.
The Board made out the necessary application blanks for the
above projects, consolidating Nos. 1 and 2 into one project.
Meeting adjourned at 12:00 Midnight.
