Meeting with the Selectmen, Chairman of Welfare Board and '
others in connection with the projects under the Civil Works Program.
Of the Board of Public Works., Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn,
Fowle and Barnes were present. The Chairman of the Selectmen pre-
sided. Mr. Putnam as Chairman of the Board of Public Works was asked
to recommend projects sufficient to employ 80 men until such time as
the other town departments could present their projects. Mr. Putnam
recommended four projects: (1) The Repairing of the Sewer Line from
John St. to the railroad, (2) Widening of Forest St. and building
gravel sidewalk, (3) Laying foundation for 3Tennis Courtsg 1 in
Birch Meadow, 2 in Washington St. ball field, (4) making a survey
of the street numbering system preparatory to renumbering. All '
four were voted upon by those present and approved.
Immediately following the general meeting, the Board of
Public Works held a separate meeting to prepare the applications to
the Federal Government agents for the four projects. The applications
were completed and turned over to the Selectmen.
Board adjourned at 11:30 P. M.
