The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn, Fowle, Fairclough, Barnes and
Superintendent Birnie were present.
The records of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Angelo Zanni appeared relative to obtaining water
to his bungalow in Criterion St. , a Board of Survey Street off
Grove St. He was told that it would cost him about $30.00 per
year being the 4% guarantee and that it would cost him about
$18.00 to $20.00 for laying pipe into the house from the street.
One of the sons is to be seen by the Superintendent to be -sure
that the matter is understood. The question of legal costs to be
settled.
A letter was received from Mr. J. Dalton, S C E State
Dept. of Public Works relative to gravel and sand borrow from the
Nesmith and Abbott Pits .
A letter with petition for relocation of Haverhill St.
from the Town Counsel was received. The petition was signed by
Board.
Voted to have titles of the drainage easement on Haverhill
St. examined by the Town Counsel.
A letter was received from the Sanborn Hill service
stations relative to an adjustment for a defective 36 x 8 Firestone
Tire. The Secretary wrote asking for an adjustment.

A letter was written to F. D. Sabin, District Engineer ,
State Department of Public Works requesting that coal tar be used
for surface treatment on Haverhill St. in place of Asphaltic 011.
The additional cost to be provided by eliminating the proposed
B M A pavement between Station 67 to Station 76.
A permit for one Municipal Light Pole on Longview Rd.
northerly from Palmer Hill Ave. was granted.
Mr. Harnden suggested that if their four day men are
worked six days that our Board pay the two days extra.
A letter enclosing rules for renumbering houses on
streets was received from the Planning Board.
Voted to buy Tarvia from the Barrett Co, for Haverhill St.
Voted to place Bleachers at Birch Meadow for the Tennis '
Tournament October 12, 1933.
A letter was written to Mr. Albert N. Leman, Chairman
of the Law Comm. asking that said Board define the duties of the
Town Counsel - signed by the Secretary.
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 P. M.
