The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was
called to order at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Hartshorn, Fowle, Fairclough, Barnes and
Superintendent Birnie were present.
The records of previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. & Mrs. William Menovitch, 1 High St. appeared com-
plaining about drain which was put through their property. They
claim that they never signed a release or gave the Town authority
to use their land. The Board could not show them any signature
of theirs attached to the document dated 1929 but a previous taking
was made dated 1913 thereof. They were referred to the Town Counsel.
Mr. Putnam asked Board if there was any objection to
changing the Tennis regulations during the Tournament. No objec-
tion were raised and Board expressed their willingness to any
changes.
Bills from Prentiss & Parker for Compensation Insurance
received. Highway Dept. $181.60. Park Dept. $300.37. Sewer Dept.
$878.68. Water Dept. $104.44, Totaling $1465.09.
A letter was received from the Planning Board offering
any assistance with regard to re-numbering houses on streets.
Secretary instructed to reply asking for Planning Board's plan
for re-numbering.

Dr. M. E. Brande verbally ordered the water shut off ,
at the premises, corner of Prospect and King Sts. , as he says he
will not be responsible for payment of the water bill. Mr. E. C. -
Haselton now occupies the premises and has paid $2.00 on the water
bill of $15.00. Mr. Davis advised us to shut off water on written
request of Dr. Brands the owner. If Board of Health orders water
turned on it must be done holding owner responsible for the water
consumed thereafter.
A letter was received from the Commonwealth of Massachu-
setts , Department of Public Works enclosing a contract in duplicate
for Haverhill St. asking that both copies be signed and returned.
The Commissioners will then sign and return one copy. Board signed '
contract.
Mr. William Carney of Park Ave. and Mr. D. K. Kennedy
residing on the N. W. Corner of Main St. and Park Ave. Extension
appeared asking that gravel excavated in Ash St. by the Municipal
Light Department be dumped on Park Ave. Extension. The Board in-
formed them that the street was private and that the Town could do
nothing thereon, but told them to see the Light Department relative
to the filling.
The Board adjourned at 9:27 P. M.
