The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened
at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs . Putnam, Fairclough, Fowls, Barnes and Superinten-
dent Birnie were present.
The Board voted to buy pipe supplies to the amount of
$564.26.
Mr. Frank Noble reported to the Superintendent that he has
turned the boulder over once at the Willow Street Crossing and he
expects to have the work completed tomorrow noontime.
Mr. Kendall of the Central Garage appeared and requested
the Board to raise the grade of the sidewalk in front of his drive
on Woburn Street so as to stop water from entering the property
which the Board decided to do.
A hearing was held at 8:00 O!clock. Mr. Arthur Sias
appeared for the Municipal Light Department which seeks permission
to lay underground conduits in So. Main and Ash Streets. Mr. Howard
L. Corbett, living at the corner of So. Main and Ash St. appeared
and had no objection to the granting of this permit. The Board
voted unanimously to grant the permit.
Mr. Corbett also requested that the pitch of his front
walk be changed when the sidewalk is resurfaced after the construc-
tion work is done.
A hearing was held at 8:00 O'clock to open bids on 2000
ft. of 16 Ft. 6" Cast Iron B & S Pipe.

The Board voted to accept the 'Marren Pipe Co. of .51¢
' landed on the job in amounts as required, as this is in reality
the lowest bid.
The Board voted to request the County Commissioners to
establish grades on So. Main and Ash Streets as requested by the
Municipal Light Department. (See letter in file) .
The Board voted to extend time for the payment of water
bill of Mr. George G. Larrabee, 394 No. Main St. until June 15,1933,
amounting to $30. 50, and if payment is not made at that time it will
be necessary to shut off the water.
Mr. DeWolfe, South Main St. Cor. Green, appeared at 9:00
P. M. relative to the permit for laying conduits in So. Main St. ,
but had no objection.
Voted to abate the water bill of the Reading Rubber Mfg.
Co. $200.00, on account of water used during a fire and sprinkler
tests.

Voted to pay the Meadow Brook Golf Club $200.00 on
account for gravel.
Board voted to write to the Mayor of Woburn asking for
action on changing the Reading Woburn Town Line. (See letter on
file) .
Voted to change construction of rail of stairs at
Memorial Park from pipe to stone at the recommendation of the
Superintendent.
Meeting adjourned at 10:45 P. M.
