1 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was
called to order at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Putnam, Fairclough, Merrill and Fowls present;
Superintendent also present.
Mr. Putnam acted as Chairman for this meeting.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Letters received from First National Stores requesting
permission to make an opening in the sidewalk for a chute in front
of store: at No. 204 Main Street.
Permission granted subject to bond of indemnity as approved
by Town Counsel and further that it shall be so constructed as to
' meet with the approval of the Building Inspector.
Planning Board met with this Board and discussed the
advisability and ways and means of changing names of certain streets,
within. the Town, which are similar. Mr. Clark Robinson read an
article which was drawn up for the purpose of placing in the Chronicle
for publicity. Planning Board will communicate with this Board later.
Mr. Louis Ellenwood interviewed this Board relative to placing
a retaining wall along the proposed new sidewalk abutting his property
on Lowell St.
Voted to put in a cement wall, providing he provide the lumber
for the forms and build same.
Letters received from Charles E.Cushing and Stanley R. Stem-
bridge relative to water bills of S.R.Stembridge Co. Board voted that
they should not be held individually responsible for these bills and
matter placed on file.

Received from Town Counsel, Deed and Release signed by
the abuttors and mortgagees on Nelson Avenue, in connection with
the laying of water main in that street. Same is for our files.
Petition received from Municipal Light Dept. requesting
permission to install three poles on Longfellow Road as per plan.
Permission granted.
Board signed Order of Taking of Easement in Winthrop
Avenue for water main purposes.
Mr. Henry Johnson interviewed the Board relative to the
feasibility and desirability of purchasing the Barry Garage for
use as a Municipal Garage.
Board voted to purchase used compressor and motor unit
from Walter W. Field & Son at a cost of $875.00 as outlined in
their letter of Jan. 27, 1933, a copy of which is filed herewith.
Meeting adjourned at 11:45 P. M.
