HomeMy WebLinkAbout1933-01-20 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , January 20, 1933• The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was ' called to order at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Merrill, Putnam and Fairclough were present; Superintendent also present. Mr. Merrill acted as Chairman; Mr. Putnam as Secretary. Records of previous meeting read and accepted. A report of conditions at property of Mr. Menovitdh was given and it was voted to grade his lawn. The Superintendent reported that a request had been made by the Reading Tax Payers Association for further information regarding expenses and expenditures of the Water Department. Messrs, Burgess , Connolly and Mount of the Finance Committee met with the Board regarding the 1933 Budget. A general ' discussion ensued. A letter received from Town Counsel relative to the filing of Water Liens. A copy of a form to be used in filing was also received. Mr. Tasney visited the Board and reported that insurance on bleachers had been taken to protect the Town. Mr. Merrill stated that he had received a request from Mr. Murphy that the Board construct a fence in connection with the sidewalk being constructed on Lowell Street.
