The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was
called to order at 7:30 P. M.
Messrs . Putnam, Merrill, Fairclough and Superintendent
were present.
Mr. Putnam acted as Chairman for this meeting.
Mr. Fairclough acted as Secretary.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Hearing on Grove St. relocation held at 7:45 P . M. and
the following persons appeared: Mr. & Mrs . B. F. Hodges, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles G. Simpson (object to cut off) , Mr. and Mrs . James
Freeman, Mr. Stevens, Mr. William Becker, Mr. Emerson, Mrs . McSheehy
(does not want wall disturbed) , Mr. Wm. E. Knox, Mr. McLeod.
A change is to be made in lines and abuttors notified of
another hearing.
Mr. William A. Herbolzbeimer of 122 First St. , Melrose,
(1758-M) appeared relative to the water bill of the heading Soft
Water Laundry. Asks for work to help discharge the bill. Balance
due equals $230.80 at present.
Superintendent is to have meter read Saturday Jan, 7, 1933,
and Mr. Herbolzhelmer is to appear before Board on Friday, Jan, 13,
1933 for further consideration of payments .
Mr. William Menovitch of 1 High St. appeared asking for
proper covering of drainage pipe on his property. Superintendent
is to investigate and report to Board.

' Petitions received from New England Telephone and
Telegraph Co. as follows:
1. 1 Joint pole location on Village St. south west
side from South St. line of Washington St. South-Easterly
approximately 43 feet, pole # 91/10 with Municipal Light
Department.
2. Joint pole location on Ash St. north west
side from the north street line of Green St. North East
approximately 51 feet, pole # J. 0. 2/6 relocation ex-
isting J. 0. pole 3' South West.
3. Transfer of joint ownership of 5 poles between
Grand Street and Lowell Street to Municipal Light Dept.
' 4. Petitions received from Municipal Light Dept.
for location on Tower Road between Hanscom Ave. and
Bancroft Ave. 1 pole also.
5. Smith Ave. Easterly from Eaton St. 4 poles.
Board voted to build a sidewalk on Salem St. and to the
bend in Libb^ Avenue.
Superintendent to notify the School Committee that
$250 for removing ashes from the schools was a very reasonable
price, and suggest that they ask for Welfare help to mow lawns.
Voted that the Board loan bleachers to American Legion
Post #62 on the condition that the Town and the Board be saved
harmless from all claims (etc. see agreement) after approval by
Town Counsel.
Meeting adjourned at 11:40 P. M.
