The Recular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was called
to order at 7:30 P .M.
Messrs. Putnam, Fairclough, Merrill and Fowle were present:
Superintendent also present.
Mr. Merrill acted as Chairman for this meeting.
Minutes of previous meeting read and accepted.
Board voted to extend payment of water bill of David Schurman,
3P6 Haverhill Street, until Feb. 1, 1933•
Board voted to notify Mr. Frank Edwards to the effect that the
ditch which drains Memorial Park, and which runs along his property
line, would be straightened when the ditch is cleaned next year.
Letter received from Geo. A. Schofield, Ipswich. Mass . , relative
to amount of water Town is allowed to take from the Ipswich River.
Superintendent to acknowledge receipt of letter and then turn over
to Town Counsel for reply.
Letter received from the School Committee relative to the
removal of ashes and care of School Grounds by this Board the
following year. Superintendent to communicate with Mr. Safford for
details.
Board voted to purchase 1160' of 15" V.C.Pipe to be taken
from M.S.D. Account.
Board voted to purchase 160, of 18" V.C.Pipe and 251 of
V.C.Pipe, 5000 cement bricks, 5 Catch Basin Frames and Covers , 1
Man Hole Frame and Cover, all to be taken from Drainage Account.

Board voted to purchase from Hedge & Matthias Co.
1000 ft. of 4" x 1010" sidewalk forms . 60 Division plates 41,x 416"
and 60 plates 411 x 610" as per prices submitted in their letter of
12/15/32.
Meeting of Dec. 23, postponed until the following week.
Budget for annual town meeting to be submitted to Town
Accountant made up as follows:
Office of the Board of Public Works $ 5, 500.00
Highway Department 25,000.00
Sidewalk Account 5,000.00
Maint. of Storm Drains 2,000.00-
1933 Drainage Construction 4,000.00

In regard to wages and salaries for 1933 the Board voted
as follows:-
That no overtime pay be given to the Superintendent, Foremen
and Office Employees.
All employees except office employees to work on a 48-hour
weekly basis .
Chester Putnam' s salary to be increased to $40.00 per week
commencing Dec. 22, 1932•
James Putnam's salary to be increased to $28.80 per week
commencing Dec. 22, 1932.
That the proposed reduction in all salaries and wages as per
list attached take effect Jan. 1, 1933•
That there would be no meeting on Dec. 23 or the following
week, unless called together.
Meeting adjourned at 1:20 A.M.
