The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was '
called to order. at 7:30 P.M.
Mr. Fairclough was appointed chairman for this meeting.
Messrs . Putnam, Fairclough, Merrill and the Superintendent
were present.
Minutes of previous meeting read and accepted.
Hearing held at 7:30 P.M. on pole location corner South and
South Streets, near Woburn line. Board granted petition.
Mr. Putnam reported that the wage adjustment committee met
Monday Oct. 28th. That questionaire was to be sent to near-by
towns for comparison of wage scale.
Mr. H. Nelson Bates appeared before the Board and signed
release for Nelson Ave. Board signed Board of Survey Plan. '
Letter received from Town Accountant relative to requirements
of General Laws Chapter 41, Section 59. Board to comply in due time.
Hearing held at 7:45 P.M. by Board of Public Works on
Parkview Rd. , Weston Rd. , and Longfellow Rd. Messrs. Klang, Fellows,
Smith, Pierson, Mason, Richardson, Lougee, Mr. & Mrs . Young, Mr. &
Mrs. Prescott appeared. question of drainage in Weston Road was
discussed. Board voted to cut off the two catch basins on Parkview
Rd. and put same in at Town expense after streets are accepted, if
same proves necessary. Objections were raised by Mr. Richardson,
who wished two or three days to render his decision. Mr. Klang
presented a petition for drainage project in Weston Rd. Board
signed plans covering Longfellow Rd. and Parkview Rd.
Letter received from B. M. Hartshorn, acknowledging Board's
note of sympathy to our Chairman, because of his recent accident.

Hearing held at 8:15 P.M. on Vine St. sidewalk construction
job; Messrs. Webber, Murray, McLaughlin, Williamson, Coulter,
Turner, Stratton and MacLean appeared. Mr. MacLean raised the
question as to reason Board did not notify abutters as to cost of
legal fees; Mr. Webber wanted to know why legal fees were
necessary. General discussion as to how cost figures were arrived
at. Discovered that the cash fees of `i53. 56 were charged twice.
Corrected bills to be sent abutters. Notify in writing tax
collector to this fact, granting an additional thirty days.
Board voted to make up proper forms to cover this question
in future, and to add the cost of legal fees to the individual lot.
Board voted to exchange materials from Eddy Valve Co. , for
' those materials found wanted at this time; as per memo attached
hereto.
Letter received from Commonwealth of Massachusetts , Office of
County Commissioners, requesting name of Street and amount of
money wanted for 1933 road building program. Board to reply that
$7000. is wanted for balance of Main Street construction.
Mr. Bessom submitted a Plan of Intervale Terrace for Board
of Survey, dated 1899. Superintendent to interview Mr. Bessom
on this subject and report to Board at next meeting as to present
conditions .
Necessary changes made in plan of Park St. Board of Survey
approved and signed same.
Voted to omit next regular meeting because of holiday.
