HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-07-22 Board of Public Works Minutes _l. Reading, Mass. s July 22, 1932. ' The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 7:30 P.M. All Members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of previous meeting read and accepted. Letter received from the N. E. Tel. & Tel. Co. requesting permission to use Southern yellow pine creosoted poles in place of chestnut poles which are now used. There being no objection, permission was granted. Letter received from Mrs. Marie C. Pratt, 33 Mt. Vernon St. , relative to Board's in,uiring as tD whether or not shewouldmake application for a cement sidewalk to complete the one recently constructed on School St. "he was not favorable and the ' Superintendent was instructed to interview her and acquaint her with the cost and apportionment of same. Bids received from Warren Foundry& Pipe Corp. and U. S. - Pipe and Foundry Co. for 12" and 10" Water Pipe. Bids filed herewith. Voted to purchase 300 ft. of 12" and 300 ft. of 10" from U. S. Pipe and Foundry Co. at $1.17 and $.93 per ft. respectively. Signed order for levy and collection of assessment to abutters of Libby Avenue for the construction of that highway. -2- July 22P 1932. Cont. ' Signed order for levy and collection of assessments to abutters onSchoolStreet for the construction of a granolithic sidewalk on that Street.
