HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-06-24 Board of Public Works Minutes -1- Reading, Mass. , June 24, 1932. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 9:30 P.M. All Members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of previous regular meeting and two special meetings read and accepted. Letter received from the Board of Selectmen relative to the results of the joint meeting of all departments in regard to salary and wage reductions . Alfred H. Parsonson presented petition and releases for the laying out of Fair Road under the Betterment Act. Hearing held at H P.M. on a joint petition from the N. E. Telephone and Telegraph Co. and Municipal Light Department for permission to install one new pole on Bancroft Avenue between Auburn St. and Weston Rd. Mr. Gillard of the Telephone Co. appeared and spoke in favor. Mr. Sias of the Municipal Light Department appeared and objected. Mr. Stuart Richards wrote a letter of objection. Board voted not to grant the petition. Letter received from Town Counsel relative to accident in which Mrs. Hattie S. Copeland claims injury due to obstruction on the sidewalk on Main St. opposite Reading Inn. Referred to Superintendent for investigation and report. -2- June 24, 1932 Cont. ' Superintendent to write to Mr. Hamilton to appear before the Board next Friday evening in regard to the installation of additional wells at the new pumping station. Meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
