Hartshorn, Putnam, Merrill and Fowle were present. Superintendent also was present. Minutes of previous meeting read and accepted. Letter received from Board of Selectmen, requesting this Board to meet with them on May 13th at 9 P.M. to consider together the matter of underground wire installation in Reading Square. Board signed amendment to contract dated May 28th, 1931, between Town of Reading and Albert P. Rounds, covering allowance for grading. Bids received from following for gasoline for the coming year. Gulf Refining Co. ' S. R. Stembridge Co. Standard Oil Co. Janney Mfg. Co. Kenney Service Station. Copies filed herewith. Contract awarded to Janney Mfg. Co. at 4¢ less than posted station price with discount of 1% in 10 days . Bids received from following for tar or Macasphalt sidewalks on Southerly side of Haven St. , from Sanborn St. to Gould St. , on Easterly side of Lincoln St. from Washingtcn. St. to Depot; on Westerly side of Bancroft Ave. , from Mt. Vernon St. toward Woburn St, about 125 feet: Macasphalt Corp. General Crushed Stone Co. J. C. Coppage Co. Copies filed herewith. , -2- May 13, 1932 Cont. Matter laid on table and Superintendent to investigate and recommend kind of sidewalk most advantageous. Board approved and signed revised plan of Municipal Light Department Underground System, 1931 Construction. Application received from John Donnelly & Sons to-gether with sketch for the erection of a sign over the sidewalk at Willis Drug Store. Board voted permission to install same. . Letter received from J. Earle Thompson, relative to the issuing of permits , etc. , for the use of the tennis courts at Memorial Park and Birch Meadow. Matter taken under advisement. Letter received from Horace A. Bailey relative to the condition of the highway at the corner of Wilson and Salem Streets. ' Matter taken under advisement. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
