HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-04-22 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mags . , April 22, 1932• The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was called ' to order at 7:30 P.M. All Members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of previous meeting read and accepted. Voted to have flag pole on Common painted at cost of $17:00. Mr. Evart E. Peterson of Longwood Rd. interviewed the Board . and registered objection to the ultimate height of his lot due to the building of this road. Superintendent to investigate feasibility of relocation and report. Mr. Harry Barclay asked permission to install a drain pipe from his property on Vale Road across said street to catch basin. Board voted to install this pipe from catch basin to his lot line and charge the cost of same to him. Mr. Ray of 239 West St. asked assistance in preventing water , from running in his cellar. Superintefldent to investigate and report. Mr. A. P. Rounds interviewed the Board in regard to the grading around the new Pumping Station. Re was informed that the Board wished him to do the gradin7 according to the terms of his contract. 1 -2- April 22, 1932 Cont. ' Letter received from Florence G. Nichols , Athletic Coach at the Reading High School, asking for reservation of the tennis . courts at Memorial Park for use of the High School Girls on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:00 P.M. , beginning April 25. Board granted use of. one court for . requested days. Letter received from Mrs. Wilson, 29 Center Ave. , complaining about water bill of $29.00. It was the opinion of the Board that this bill must be paid and time would be granted to make payment. Meeting adjourned at 9:05 P.M. A True Record:- Attest:- Robert E. Fowle SECRETARY.
