HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-03-18 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass., March 18, 1932. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works called to order at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Hartshorn, Putnam, Merrill and Fowls present. Superintendent also was present. Minutes of the previous meeting read and accepted. Letter received from S. R. Stembridge Co.., stating that the Department was entitled to a credit of 3¢ per gallon on 550 gals. of Quaker State Oil purchased during the year 1931, amounting to $16.50. This amount will be deducted from the next invoice for oil purchased. Letter received from Kingman & Richardson, asking for information as to when curbing would be installed in Westwood Park as per their application of Dec. 10, 1931. Superintendent to write them that same will be installed as soon as money is available. Board signed plans showing proposed 6" gas main on Longfellow Rd. Mr. S. W. Bowker interviewed the Board relative to employment. He was advised to consult with the Boards of Selectmen, and Public Welfare. Board voted to albw Superintendent to purchase steel filing cabinet for office. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M. A True Record:- Attest:- Robert E.
