HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-02-12 Board of Public Works Minutes -1- Reading, Mass . , Feb. 12, 1932. ' The Regular. Meeting of the Board of Public Works called to order at 7:30 P.M. All members (except Mr. Merrill) and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of February 5th meeting read and approved. Mr. Frank Surrette appeared before the Board relative to Park St. layout. - Mr. Clark Robinson. appeared relative to sidewalk on North Main St. ; he has a 4 1/2 ft. retaining wall which would have to be rebuilt. He objects to having sidewalk on his, the east, side of North Main St. Mr. Putnam brought two forms , one of which has to be ' signed by the Board in regard to sidewalk on North. Main St. Board considered articles and motions for the Town Warrant. Mr. Davis, 'town Counsel, brought the Contract for the wells for the Board's consideration. The Malden-Melrose Gas Light Co. requested a permit to open Auburn St. ,from the Dead end at #25 to Dead end at #10, a distance of 220 ft. , until March 10, 1932, for the purpose of laying a 6-inch gas main and servir.e for distribution purposes, which was granted. Board also signed plan and approved a location for a 6-inch gas main on the west side of Felicia Road. -2- February 12, 1932 Cont. The question of plowing snow was discussed. ' The Board of Selectmen appeared and asked Board to care for a dump on the north side of Willow Street near the Railroad. They also asked that the Board remove snow around hydrants.
