The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works calk[to '
order at 7:30 P.M.
All members and the Superintendent were present.
Minutes of January 8th, 1932, meeting read and accepted.
Superintendent reports that elevation of water at
Quannapowitt Lake is 2" higher on Reading side of the Boulevard
than on the Wakefield side.
Board voted to install a sidewalk on Oak St. as per the
Superintendent's report, in spite of Mr. Poland' s protest.
That the Board would adjust in the proper manner any difficulties
that might arise.
Mr. Fletcher and four other abutters on Longwood Rd. appeared
before the Board. They were advised that the Board would purchase '
land of Mr. O'Rourke, corner of West St. , as per agreement they
presented for $330.00, this charge to be included in their _
charges; the Board to proceed with necessary documents to complete
this work and have a hearing Feb. 5th.
Board signed a Report on Laying Out of Libby Avenue.
Board voted to permit Municipal Light Board to locate
three poles on Forest St.
Letter received from Geo. L. Sanborn, dated Jan. 12, 1932,
stating he is willing to give them land corner of Bay State Rd.
and Haverhill St.

' Mr. Putnam reports that State and County will aid Town on
Reading Square project. That we can proportion the work over
two years. That work can be done by local labor provided we
will start this work before there is a change that might arise
by an act pending in the legislature.
Board voted to ask for $7,000. to do 7500 yds. from No. Main
St. to Haven St.., including the intersections. That this be
done as outlined by State on letter dated Nov. 17, 1931-on Page 2.
Chairman extended to Mr. Putnam, a vote of thanks in behalf
of his efforts with the State Dept. on the Reading Scuare
Construction job.
Board voted to make a layout for the Board of Survey of
' Hartshorn St. , from Bancroft Ave. to Birch Meadow Playground.
Board adjourned at 9:07 P.M.
