HomeMy WebLinkAbout1931-12-28 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass . , Dec. 28, 1931. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works called to order at 7:30 P.M. All members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of Dec. 18th meeting read and accepted. Twenty-four citizens appeared at the hearing held at 7:45 P.M. on Libby Ave. construction under Betterment Act. They were informed that the cost would be no more than 550 per running foot per abutter or $1.10 per foot. The area to be covered is from Salem St. to C Street. Five abutters appeared at the hearing at 8:15 of Long Wood Rd. Total cost $1664.00 or 850 per running ft. plus cost ' of land damage if Mr. O'Rourke, owner of corner lot makes claim. Chairman stated 90¢ would cover approximate total cost. A Petition was filed by abutters with the Board to proceed. y hearing to be held by Board of Survey on January 8th. Letter received from Amos M. McLean, requesting listing of Vista Avenue. Superintendent instructed to notify Mr. McLean that road is not up to grade. Chairman of Board of Selectmen appeared before Board relative to unemployment situation. Board adjourned at 9:30 P.M. A True Record:- Attest:- Frank M. Merrill SECRETARY.
