HomeMy WebLinkAbout1931-12-04 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , Dec. 4, 1931. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works called , to order at 7:30 P.M. All the Members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of November 27th meeting read and accepted. Letter received from Janet L. Bond, requesting a permit to erect a sign in front of premises located at 33 Haven St. Letter received from Weston & Sampson, relative to final accounting of A. P. Rounds Contract. Board voted to pay Rounds as per estimate dated Dec. 1st. Bill of $30.00 for extra grading placed on table. Superintendent instructed to write Patrick J. Neary, Lexington, Mass. , that Board placed his 20-year Betterment Act on the table. Geo. S. Sanborn appeared at the Haverhill Street Hearing at 7:45 P .M. He stated he was not in position to answer as to damages, as others are interested with him; that he would advise. Special Committee of the Finance Committee, Chairman of the Finance Committee and members of the Planning Board met with our Board. By-pass of the Town and new construction of Reading Square were 'discussed. - Board adjourned at 9:47 P .M. A True Record:- Attest:- Frank M. Merrill SECRETARY.
