Reading Mr. F.. D. Sabin, District Highway Engineer. Dear .Sir: - -In compliance with your recent request, I am sub- mitting an estimate for the cost of construction of Main Street, Reading from the northerly end of` the State Highway at the rail- road corssing of the B. & M. to the southerly end of the Reading North State highway just beyond the Square. This estimate calls for a travelled area of 40 in width from the B. & M. R. R. crossing to Green Street and for the full width of the square and Lowell Street as designated on blue prints submitted by the town and includes a total area of 19, 500 sq. yds. of surfacing. -I have prepared two estimates:- one for a reinforced concrete .pavement 8" in depth with the necessary drainage;- $2 covers the cost of building this section with 7" bituminous macadam.
