HomeMy WebLinkAbout1931-10-02 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , Oct. 2, 1931 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works called to order at 7:30 P.M. , All the Members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of Sept. 25th meeting read and accepted. . Mr. Ruben White, former employee" of the water Dept. , interviewed the Board relative to his receiving compensation from Travelers Ins. Co. Supt. to purchase suitable desk for ,Miss Jaquith to correspond with present equipment. Letters from Town Accountant and Municipal Light Board 'relative to the construction of sidewalk on South Main St. Board to notify Finance Committee they wish to ascertain if they will act favorable as Mr. Bent's outlines this procedure. Hearing held at 8 P.M. relative to installing poles on , Grove St. Board signed petition. Letter received from the State of Massachusetts that the approach of Charles and Mill Streets would be constructed and resurfaced to our satisfaction. That Grove and Franklin Streets would not be attended to. That they would cooperate with us on the approach of Summer Ave. onto South Main St. Letter received from Town Council Davis recommending the necessary changes in our Sewer by-laws and phrasing the costs to users .
