HomeMy WebLinkAbout1931-09-25 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , Sept. 25, 1931. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works called to ' order at 7:30 P.M. All the Members and the Superintendent were present. Minutes of Sept. 18th meeting read and accepted. Letter received from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, dated Sept. 22d, 1931, stating that the Commission had approved work recently completed on Salem Street Contract #3420 dated Sept. 8, 1931. Application received from Christine F. Atkinson, #32 Wash- ington St. , for granite curbing abutting her property. Voted to install if funds are available. Petition received from Citizens , owning property on Wakefield St. , to improve road conditions now existing. Superintendent to acknowledge and state we will do what can be done to ir:prove these conditions as soon as possible. Town Council Davis to confer with Town Accountant Bent, regarding proper procedure to correct Salem Street Account and proper billing of the sidewalk being constructed as per agreement with the Municipal Light Board. The Board of Survey approved layout of Winthrop Avenue from Tower Road to the accepted section of Winthrop Avenue. The Superintendent reported that Chester Putnam was working out satisfactorily as foreman of highways. As a result the Superintendent was instructed to notify Mr. Harry Collins that there were no vacancies. Adjourned at 9 P.M. A True Record:- Attest:- Frank M. Merrill SECRETARY.
