HomeMy WebLinkAbout1931-08-28 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , August 28, 1931. CThe Regular Meeting of the Board was called to order at 7:30 P.M. Letter from State of Mass. , dated Aug. 24th, requesting Board to return Salem St. Contract. Investigation showed contract returned June 24th and Supt. to so advise State. Letter received from Samuel H. Davis, regarding damaged property of Geo. Dinkel Salem St. , Supt. instructed to furnish detailed information. A hearing by the Board of Survey to be held Sept. 11, on a portion of Winthrop Ave. layout. Application received from Harry B. Collins for a position as foreman of Highway Dept. Board has invited him to appear Sept. 11th. Board voted to install 225 ft. of granite curbing in connection with granolithic sidewalk construction on Main St. One-half the cost, approximately $225.00 to be paid by the Municipal Light Dept. Board voted to resurface tar sidewalk on Washington St. caused by the raising of the curbstone. Mr. Franklin and Mr. Donahue of Longwood Rd. appeared before the Board and was advised that the Board could proceed without receiving Mr. O'Rourkes release. That water plan would be sent Davis & Abbott if they wished to make changes in street lines . Board voted to adjourn at 9:15 P.M. A True Rpcord:- Attest:- Frank M. Merrill SZC3STARY.
