The heading 31ccntennlal Commissipâť‘ met at the flea dingpublic
Library, at 8 pm, on 26 July 1977. Present were chairman :Miller and
members Barclay, Bishop, Blanchard, 11.cCaulcy and Proctor. Katherine
Farquhar was absant .
The "mutes of t`-e previousmeeting were approved as di tri'buted.
+re, biller read a letter of resignation from Jane Celehar woo
has moved out of state. It was accepted with genuine regret and an
expreselon of appreciation for her contributions to the Commission.
It rjas moved by 4aurice Proctor, seconded by Roland Blanchard
and voted that tns vacancy should not be filled since the Commission
work is so near completion.
Reports an the statue publications followed, tars. Bishop thought
Rooftrees could be completed in another two weeks, and the chairman
asked Roland Blanchard and T:aurice Proctor to be a sub-committee to
confer on arrangements far publication Including poesible clerical
help, use of pictures and cost estimates. Roland Blanchard will contact
Eetherine Farquhar about avallAbility of reasht pictures of Rooftrees
houses s'ne had had taken.
;re. Barclay reported for the College Club project . The re-writing
Job ie in nroaress. There have been two meetings and another is scheduled
for August 8. Then it ie to be re-tyced and should be ready by t'oe end
of the month.
_re. [,.Hier explained that the League of Women Voters were upset
to dicoover the Pitkin volumes would be sold to recover coats. They
thought they were doing It for school use- to be given the schools n,,
for use in the curriculum. ,rs. Miller will talk with Dr. IbIunnelly,
and if t'::e schools do wish them for curriculum use transfer can be
arranged.

on the Pitkin gook. It was voted that the creditishould read :

fancy. they wish c'eanges to be at a minimum, the sign simple, and are
concerned about traffic hazards.
It was moved by Jack n;epauley, seconded ''by Dlaurice Proctor, and
voted unanimously that the Olmstead Plan #2 (10600) 1977 not be accepted.
The meeting adjourn'--d at 9:30 pm to meet next at 8 :30 pm on
September 8th.
