Library on this date at 8 pm. Present were chairman is ller, members :
W" arclay, Bishop, Blanchard, Calabar, =::e Cauley and Proctor, and -oard
of Public Works superintendent Roger Louanis. ., E. Xatnerioe Farquhar
was absent .
-.'he minutes of the previous Meeting were approved as distributed.
-he first iter; of discussion was the "directory-slynboard" project
for the lower Common triangle. :ir. Louanis outlined the proposed plans.
The Board of Pubiis vior'ss will build, erect , and maintain it . Readinn
Lumber will prnv =_de lumber. The 3arden Club has promisee assistance�in
landscaping. I'he Lisht depart^.ant will put In lighting and control paacl.
Anticipated cost it 1000 to 1500 dollars, uu_ on contributions.

The Jaycees endorse this, and the Comral,s ion voted unanimously to
support it, and to provide the "947 �-Iestival proceeds, and an additional
amount , if eeeded, from the contingency fund, up to a total of 01500.
Phe t '.,ree publication orojects are all expecting to beach completion
this spring, the League of Women Voters exoects a 11arch 1 date for cubit-
cation with distribution in ::ay. 'Phe College Club history Is now in the
hands of the ppmf:llttee , Said Schmuch In charge, ars. Bishop is aiming to
meet a 'arch 1 copy deadline for Rooftrees.
The closing activities of the Com ission and the establishment of
an Historical Co-_:>mission are the chief concerns henceforth, i,:e m be r
agreed to consider t're question seriously and be prepared to discuss the
matter fully at the next aceting. All endorse the concept of an Historical
Commicaion for Reading, but some are concerned that the Deoot fuseum
question be settledbefore such a reco<(endation be made. In the interim
Dr. :',CCauley 14111 talk with Richard Trask of Danvers who is responsible
for that town's highly succe::sful set-up.
