The Commission at at the Library on Feb, 26, All members
were present , as well as Capt , Gray of the Minutemen, Robert Parsons
�of the Reading Antiquarian SoRiety, and visitor, James Newton,
The minutes of the meeting of 13 February were accepted.
Details of the meeting of :March 20 were outlined. David
Biette will take care of the posters, which will be prepared by Mr.
Harney at the High School, and distributed by the Camp Fire girls.
The broadsides will be signed by John McCauley "acting town clerk, "
Linda Hamel will write a major article for the Chronicle for March 13
and a -reminder for the 20th,

Programs will be prepared listing order of events, and names

Capt. Gray announced that the first formal drill for the
Company isscheduled for Saturday at Birch Meadow,
Mrs. Calabar outlined events already scheduled by organizations.
Letters were sent to 53 groups and events listed Include : Craftsmen, a

play 1n September; Garden Club function 22 May 1976; Masons, April 26
t Meadow Brook Colonial Costume ball, and the temple cornerstone laying
2 June, Joshua Eaton PTA has plans for April 1975; Congregational Church
will have the annual fair, and a program for Sunday 4 July 1976. The
Reading clergy hopefully will launch housing for the elderly, dedicated to
the Bicentennial, and 9180 plan a celebration around the marker on the Common.

Linda Hamel with full details. Letters were sent to 22 house owners last
week asking permission to place the markers. Nine have already responded,
and two queries received by telephone. Thank you notes will be sent out,
and follow-ups on any wtlo do not respond. Orders for markers will then be
made and arrangements f&r the backings and installation. The site suns
have not yet been determined. Mrs. Ebeling will talk with Mr. Morang-and
with Mr. Cietrean about details for the brochures,

The Commission voted up to $100 for bus and other expenses for
the Reading Minuteman to take part in the official April 19 exercises at
Concord and Lexington.
