Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works called
to order at 8 P.M.
All Members and the Superintendent were present.
Bids were received from United States Pipe & Foundry Co. ,
R. D. Wood & Co. , and Warren Foundry & Pipe Co. Copies of
Bids are filed herewith.
Bid was awarded to Warren Foundry & Pipe Co. at $1.32
per foot for approximately three thousand (3,000) feet of
12" Warren-Spun C. I. B&S Pipe, Class 150 in 16, laying lengths
delivered by truck on job as needed.
Petition for pole location was signed by Chairman,
covering Mt. Vernon St. from Bancroft Ave. to beyond School St.
Order for Sidewalk Assessments was signed by Board,
covering curb-stone installation #1 A and #11 Dudley St.
Voted to lay out new street line on High and Lowell
Streets as shown on a plan in order to construct a sidewalk
from Willow Street to High Street.
Voted to write a letter to Insurance Committee, informing
them we contemplate trucking water pipe on our highway trucks
this coming year.

Answering your valued inquiry of March 23, we are pleased
to quote you prices on the following Cast Iron Water Pipe, to
be made un,'er the license and specifications of the Sand Spun
Patents Corporation, which is the holding company for all
centrifugal pipe spun in a sand mold:
Appros. 3000' of 12" Warren-Spun CI B&S Pipe, Class 150
in 16, laying lengths at $1.32 per foot.
Prices quoted are for delivery f. o. b. cars or trucks
our Everett, Massachusetts Foundry, with $eight allowed to
Reading, Massachusetts.
If favored with this order contract may be increased
swdaummmi" or decreased 15% and we can start shipment
immediately and have entire order delivered in Reading inside
of a week.
Terms of payment: Net cash within 30 days from date of
invoice.
Quotation we will hold open for your acceptance for one
week from date.

In response to your advertisement inviting proposals
to be received until 8 P .M. , Eastern Standard Time, Tuesday,
March 31, 1931, we are pleased to offer for your consideration
at the said time and prompt acceptance thereafter, subject to
the clause printed below the date line of this letter which is
to be considered a part hereof, the following material: 1
Approx. (subject to an increase or decrease of
15%) 3,000 linear feet of 12" deLavaud
centrifugally cast coated water pipe, Class
150 in 12' or 18' lengths $1.31 per ft.
This price if f. o. b. cars foundry, with freight
allowed to Reading, Massachusetts.
We would be pleased to offer the pipe for your inspection
at our works and for immediate shipment after receipt of the
order and full information at the ship, subject to prior sale
and all conditions beyond our control;.
TERMS: 30 days net cash from date of invoice.
