HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-12-26 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , December 26, 1930. ' The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 7:30 P.M. All Members Present. Superintendent away. Previous records read and approved. Bids on new cars received and considered. Board voted to purchase a Ford 1 1/2 ton Chasis at $657.00, a St. Coupe Ford for Mr. Birnie $379.00, a 1931 St, Coupe Chevrolet for Superintendent $419.00: all with allowance for trade in, fully equipped. Board signed an order of taking for two parcels of land in Birch Meadow; one from heirs of Oliver A. Swain seven and one half (7 1/2) acres; and one from Delia E. Sweetser two and 53/100 (2. 53) ' acres. ' Chairman . signed three permits for pole removals made by New England Telephone And Telegraph Company as follows:- Ash St. from Cross St. northerly approximately 825.8 ft. 6 poles, West St. from Reading-Woburn Town Line north-easterly approximately 1068 ft. 9 poles, West St. from Oak St. northeasterly approximately 885. 5 ft. 8 poles, as per plans attached thereto.
