HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-12-19 Board of Public Works Minutes _1_ Reading, Mass. , Dec. 19, 1930 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 7:30 P.M. All Members and the Superintendent were present. Previous records read and approved. Mr. Kelch appeared relative to having ditch dug out through his property near Willow Street. Board signed two pole location permits previously signed by the Secretary. Board signed taking in Fairview Avenue for drains and sewers, as per plan by Davis and Abbott, C. E. , dated June 1930. Board signed a taking of land of Helen G. Davis at corner of Highland St. and Bancroft Avenue to relocate and alter easterly side lines thereof. A letter war received relative to a way from Mineral Street to the Junior High School, signed by Carl M. Spencer, Chairman of the School Committee. Land must be taken from the railroad, to be investigated. Mr. Lumbert is to acknowledge receipt of the letter. Superintendent is to get prices on new cars and truck chassis for Board of Public Works and leave report for Dec. 26, 1930. 1931 Appropriations were considered and decided to ask same as last year. except Park which is $1000. more. Mr. Ida appeared, asking what is necessary to have Ida Street accepted by Town. Superintendent to investigate and report if bounds are set and street is to grade. Board voted to send a letter of thanks to Henry R. Johnson, ' for the very fine Blue Spruce tree he gave to be planted on the common. -2- December 19, 1930 Cont.
