HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-10-24 Board of Public Works Minutes -1- October 24, 1930. Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works held at 7:30 P.M. All members and the Superintendent present. Previous records read and approved. Board signed a petition asking the County Commissioners to relodate Middlesex Avenue at its junction with Linden Street, as shown on plan accompanying this petition. Frank L. Noble at al. petitioned for repairs on Scotland Road, between Sigsby Avenue and West Street, to be considered. A letter was received from Hollis B. Wilcox, requesting improvement in condition of Haverhill Street from North Reading Line to Franklin Street, to be considered. Board voted unanimously to put in granolithic sidewalk on the north side of Dudley Street from High to School Street continuously. ' All but one abuttor signed petition. The Superintendent is to obtain bids for a light truck for the Highway Department. The Superintendent is to purchase an air breaker hammer. The following streets are to be presented to Town Meeting for acceptance. Longview Road, Palmer Hill Avenue, Weston Road, Hanscom Avenue, and Tower Road. A letter was received from Metcalf and Eddy submitting a price of $800.00 for preparation of sketches, etc. , for presentation of proposition of Water Supply for Town Meeting. Messrs . Weston and Sampson, Engineers, appeared relative to development of wells systems. Set cost at $500.00. 1 Messrs. Symonds & Stevens to be asked to appear next Friday at 8 P.M. (2) October 24, 1930 Cont. Mr. Brown appeared relative to Building Shackford Road , under the Betterment Act. Mr. Davis to give Board a decision as to legality, and Mr. Brown to be notified.
