HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-09-26 Board of Public Works Minutes September 26, 1930 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 7•30 P.M. Messrs. Hartshorn, Merrill, Putnam, Fairclough and the Superintendent were present. Report of September 12, 1930 read and approved. Water question discussed at length. Water has been tested and water level checked. Voted unanimously to lay 4000 feet of pipe over the ground from wells to corner of Grove and Franklin Streets . Also to connect the remaining 6 wells so that 12 wells will be available and 300,000 gallons of water per day would be pumped directly into the system. There is about 2500 feet of 12" pipe on hand and 1500 feet of S" pipe are to be purchased immediately. Work to start next Monday morning. ' Mr. Louis Davis, Mr. Forest Bryant, Mr. Tanner and Mr. Samuel H. Davis requested permission to use Ball Field on Sunday Oct. 59 1930. for a Legion drill, granted. Hearing on pole location on Chute Street corner of Brande Court northerly from Haven Street, 1 pole, owner on south appeared and would not object if pole did not block her driveway. Permit signed by Board. Mr. Noble requested water on Scotland Road to guarantee Board signed plan for laying out the Extension of Fairview Avenue, also plan for drainage easement for above.
