September 12, 1930.
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held ,
at 7:30 P.M.
Mr. Hartshorn, Putnam, Merrill and Fairclough were present.
Cost of repairing tar concrete sidewalks to be estimated.
Mr. Ambrose appeared relative to repairing walk at edge of
Boyce Building on Haven Street property: wants their walk to meet
grade of sidewalk or curbing. Also wants retaining wall at .cut
on Lowell Street beyond Grove Street. Voted to put in concrete
curb on Haven Street line.
Board approved slips #779, 3780 - 3782 & (3721 Pumping Station)
Board approved voucher for Bond $1000.00 Interest $26o.- $1260.00
and signed.
Mr. J. R. Nichols appeared with plan and papers for Layout
of Extension of Pinevale Avenue to be advertised. ,
Mr. Davis reported that a suit for damages was brought against
the Town. Two automobiles collided on Lowell Street at Hanscom
Avenue June 30, 1930. Fresh Tarvia not sanded claimed as cause,
see Superintendent's Report etc.
Law Committee voted to allow Mr. Davis to settle Miss Smith' s
claim for damages to clothing etc. for as little as possible, but
not .over $65.00.
Work progressing well on Forest Street, Salem Street work
started today.
Proposed to lay granolithic sidewalk on Lowell Street on
west side south of Linden Street. Board to investigate.
