Regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held this
day at 7:30 P.M. with all four members and the Superintendent present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Mr. Arthur Sias appeared with regard to sidewalk in front of
the Light Department' s Garage on Ash Street.
The Superintendent reported that 200 loads of filling were
available for Birch Meadow. The question of Tennis Courts or Ball
Diamond was discussed at length and it was decided to let the
matter rest for the time being.
Two letters were received from Metcalf and Eddy with reference .
to the wells and. asking for further test on account of an unsatit-
factory sample obtained at the last of the pumping.
The Secretary is to write a letter in answer. .
The Superintendent is to connect pump again and to notify the
State Board of Health so that is may obtain samples for analysis
and report.
Voted to buy washed gravel and sand.
Voted to buy cement from Wendell Bancroft & Co.
Superintendent is to write to Mr. Gordon, notifying him
that a concrete sidewalk is to be laid in Square.
Superintendent advised that we should advertise for pipe
for drainage and that we should purchase five hundred (500) gallons
of patching material.
The location for a gas main in Brande Court was approved by
the Board and the plan signed.
Board adjourned at 9:1+0 P.M.
